General questions

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_toggle title=”What is a Thailand visa?”]If you want to go to Thailand for a holiday or business trip, you need to apply for a regular visa. The visa is a sticker, which is issued by the Thai government and is affixed to the passport. With this visa you have permission to enter the territory of Thailand. This visa is usually issued by the Embassy of Thailand in The Hague or the Consulate General of Thailand in Amsterdam.

The visa will be checked during passport control in Thailand. If you arrive by plane, the first check of the visa will probably already take place at the airport.

Our staff will work professionally to ensure that your Thailand visa application is presented flawlessly at the Thai Embassy, so you can travel with confidence.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Do I always need to present a Thailand visa?”]Tourists who have Dutch nationality only need a Thailand visa for stays longer than 30 days. Business travelers who have Dutch nationality always need a Thailand visa, even with a short stay in Thailand.

If you are staying less than 30 days in Thailand, one can obtain a visa upon arrival at the airport in Thailand.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What types of visa are available for Thailand?”]Tourists who have Dutch nationality require a Thailand visa only for stays longer than 30 days, up to 60 days. Business travelers who have Dutch nationality always need a Thailand visa, even with a short stay in Thailand.

There are also various visas available. The type of visa depends on your destination. However, you also have a Social cultural visa, a long-stay visa, a work visa, a transit (transfer) visa and a visa on personal invitation.

Yes, anyone traveling, regardless of age, must be able to present a visa when entering Thailand. This means that everyone must therefore also have their own passport (children are therefore not credited in the passport of a parent / guardian), which will contain the visa.

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”How long am I allowed to stay in Thailand with a visa?”]

Both tourist and business travelers can stay in Thailand for a maximum of 60 consecutive days. This visa can be extended locally once with an extra 30 days. So you can stay in the country for up to 90 days in total.

Do you want to stay longer? Then apply for the non-immigrant or long-stay visa. You can extend this visa locally up to 6 times and after that period you may be eligible for a residence permit in Thailand.

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”If I am planning on visiting Thailand again, do I have to provide all the information again?”]

No. After obtaining your first visa, it is possible to apply for a multiple entry visa, with which you can travel in and out of the country several times. Here, however, the requirement that you can submit an employer’s statement, a bank statement with a minimum amount of €5.500,- and a copy of a hotel confirmation applies.

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”How many times am I allowed to enter Thailand?”]

The single-entry visa is suitable for entering Thailand once.

With the multiple-entry visa (valid for one year), you can stay in Thailand for a maximum of three consecutive months. After three months from entry you must leave the country, by entering again from another country the next three months will start.

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Do I have to travel on the date stated on my application?”]

No, you do not have to, Note: You can only travel within the validity dates stated on the visa for Thailand. If you have changed your trip and it is no longer within the validity of the visa, you must apply for a new visa.

The visa is valid for 3 months from the time of issue. You must enter Thailand within those three months. The maximum dates of stay will start upon entry.

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”How much does a Thailand visa cost and how do I obtain one?”]

The costs for the visa vary per visa and processing time. Check this page for the rates and the structure of the total price of the visa type you want.

Normally, the delivery time of both the business and tourist visa is 9 working days. The urgent procedure normally takes 4 working days.

However, the embassy and consulate at all times reserve the right to take longer than the specified processing time to assess your application.

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What is an e-visa for Thailand?”]

Recently, the Thai government introduced a new electronic visa called the Thailand e-visa. For the time being, Dutch passport holders cannot make use of this. However it might be possible in the (near) future.

Through our online application form on this website you can apply for the “physical” visa, which can only be applied at the embassy of Thailand in The Hague or at the consulate of Thailand in Amsterdam. By having your application handled by Traveldocs, you do not have to travel twice to the embassy or consulate with your passport and other required documents.

[/vc_toggle][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
