Visa Suriname application

Since April 15, 2019, it is possible for citizens from 53 different countries to apply for an electronic visa. This electronic visa will replace the physical visa card for Suriname from October 19, 2019 and is also known as an e-tourist card or e-Visa card. The E-visa Card is the variant for business travelers. Travelers with Dutch and Belgian nationality can quickly and easily submit an application for an electronic visa via our website.

The electronic Suriname E-Visa card replaces the physical tourist card. As a result, you no longer have to go to the consulate of Suriname for a stay of 90 days for tourist or business purposes. With the Suriname e-visa card you can only enter the country once. It is also possible to apply for a multiple entry tourist visa for 2 or 12 months. You can apply for the Suriname e-visa via our Suriname visa page.

We can apply for an e-visa card for tourist and business purposes for Suriname.

How long is the Suriname Visa valid?

The e-visa Suriname application gives you the opportunity to stay in Suriname for 30 days. In addition, it is possible to extend this visa twice locally with an extra 30 days, with which you can stay in Suriname for a maximum of 90 consecutive days.

The E-Tourist card is valid indefinitely from the time of issue. On arrival you will receive a 30-day stamp from your immigration service in your passport. You can extend this visa up to twice an additional 30 days at:

The Immigration Service in Suriname, Mr. J. Lachmonstraat No. 166-168 in Paramaribo.

With an extension it is possible to stay in Suriname for up to 90 days.

The business e-visa is valid for 2 or 24 months and is a multiple entry visa. The maximum period of stay differs per visa type.

As soon as your e-visa is ready, you will receive it by e-mail. You must carry the e-visa printed with you.

It is not possible to submit the application urgently. An E-Tourist card or e-visa is ready in 1 to 3 working days (Monday to Friday), from the moment of submission. From then on, it is up to the Surinamese government to determine how quickly they will make a decision about your application. The Surinam government reserves the right to take longer to assess your application than the usual 72 hours, if they deem it necessary. They remain free to do so at all times, without providing a reason to do so, in the event of a delay in the application.

Contact us for the possibilities.

Costs and invoice for the visa Suriname application

You do not need a credit card to apply for your Suriname e-tourist card. This makes it easy to submit an application and pay with Mister Cash or iDeal. For questions and advice regarding your visa application, we are available by email or telephone. The total cost for an e-tourist card is €84.00,- per person.

Furthermore, the costs associated with this differ per visa type. Please note that these may differ! You can view the prices on our visa Suriname page.

With children to Suriname?

If you travel with underage children, you have to take into account a number of extra rules. Children must have their own travel document and may no longer be included in the parents’ passport. In addition, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee carries out extensive checks to prevent possible international child abductions.

Are you traveling abroad with a child over which you have joint custody or over which you do not have custody? You can use this form to demonstrate that you have permission from the persons who have custody of the child to travel abroad with the child. More information can be found on the website of the national government.
