What is a visa for Nepal?
Nepal only has a regular visa for tourist travelers. This means that this visa must still be affixed in the passport in the old-fashioned manner by an employee of the Nepalese consulate in Amsterdam.
All travelers must physically deliver all documents, including passport and passport photo, to us. Nepal does not yet have electronic visas for Dutch or Belgium passport holders.
In some cases it is possible to obtain a visa on arrival in Kathmandu (VOA), but the Nepalese government strongly advises against this, as the local immigration officers always reserve the right to refuse you entry without giving up a reason for doing so. Traveldocs can of course take care of your regular visa applications for you, so that you do not have to travel to the embassy or consulate. This not only saves you time but also a lot of money, because we use the best rates for the Nepalese visa. In addition, we check all documents for completeness and correctness, so that you can be sure that your application is presented correctly and without errors to the Nepalese government.
Business travelers and students
Business travelers and students must transfer their visa to the Ministry of Industry in Kathmandu. This means that we apply for a tourist visa for business travelers and/or students and this visa must be changed on site at the Ministry of Industry in Nepal to the correct visa type. For more information, we would like to refer you to the website of the consulate of Nepal.
What types of visas are there for Nepal?
Nepal has several types of visas. Both tourist and business travelers must apply for a regular tourist visa in advance, which will be affixed to the passport. This visa is valid for 6 months from the time of issue and offers you the opportunity to stay in Nepal for 15, 30 or 90 consecutive days. It is possible to extend this visa locally. However, we cannot guarantee that the extension of the visa will be honored. That is why we strongly recommend that you apply for a visa in advance with enough days to stay, so that you no longer have long waiting times and extra costs in Nepal when extending your visa. The costs differ between the number of days you wish to stay in Nepal.
All visa types offer you the possibility to travel in and out of Nepal several times. This means that for short trips to India, for example, you can safely travel back to Nepal on the same visa, provided that this is within the validity and you have not exceeded the maximum number of days of stay.
How long does it take to get a visa for Nepal and what are the costs?
In most cases, the Nepal visa is issued the same day of application. Very rarely, the passport can only be collected the next working day after submission. In most cases you will have your passport with the visa back in your possession within 3 working days after delivery to us in Hoofddorp.
If we have received the passport and documents before 10:00 on working days, it can usually be presented to the consulate the same day. This means that we often have the passport with the visa back that same day.
The costs per visa type are as follows:
15 days stay € 86.95 euros incl. VAT
30 days stay € 106.95 incl. VAT
90 days stay € 174.95 euros incl. VAT
